Martha's Vineyard has more than killer sharks -- it has vindictive squirrels, hot chefs, and depressed babes.

In this buddy film, two women of a certain age -- but still heterosexually attractive -- meet by chance when a windstorm cancels the Vineyard ferries. Obliged to spend a night together, they bond and their fates become entwined.

Dr. Cory Wyatt, formerly a successful veterinarian, has suffered a nervous breakdown and now subsists on government disability payments. She supplements these by making house calls to ailing reptiles, cats and dogs -- and by living in the Vineyard home of her angry sister.

Ann Feldman is a novelist in the late stages of a suicidal depression caused by writers’ block. A millionairess who gives generously to charitable causes, her personal lifestyle is frugal and ecologically correct. Before leaving for her Vineyard cottage to spend what she thinks may be her last summer, Ann signs her will leaving everything to socially liberal and environmental causes, but nothing to her angry sister.

Neither woman was ever married, both are atheists, and both become rivals for the love of a certain cat named Dave.
